Michelle Bidwell
Michelle’s passion for this work began in New Orleans, where she was raised in a community built on social support and connection. Hurricane Katrina changed everything, and it was during that upheaval that she first encountered evaluation and research — work she found technically sound but missing the empathy needed to capture real human stories. That gap became a calling: she pursued graduate degrees in public health with a focus on behavioral and community health sciences, building a foundation in equity-centered, participatory evaluation. Over the past 12 years, she’s brought that approach to organizations across health, workforce development, policy, education, veteran reintegration, and criminal justice reform.
Drawing on her personal, academic, and professional experience, Michelle has helped organizations nationwide secure millions of dollars to fund meaningful social change. She founded Granted Advisors to dismantle barriers, amplify voices, and build sustainable solutions rooted in equity — combining education, data, and collaboration to help clients scale their impact and fund their mission. Her goal is simple: support the kinds of programs that shaped her, and use evaluation as a driver for equity rather than a barrier to it.
